I don’t know much about spinal medicine, and it’s google translate, but apparently:
-it turns out that the two vertebra bones around the artificial disc had grown together with it, so the doctor decided to remove all four screws, not only the broken one, and rely on his own bones to hold the disc in place from now on
-(from another short interview of Yana’s) Plushy’s really happy about this positive development. Also, they were able to see this only after cutting him open again. If it hadn’t grown together, they would have had to replace the broken screw again
-the doctors let him get up and walk a little the day after the operation (today). Right now it looks like he’s doing well
-maybe it’s just me, of course, but maybe I’m starting to seeing some small signs that possibly, well, let’s say the usual temptations may be starting to rear their heads again. I hope I am totally wrong, though. Hopefully the doctors will scare him some more…
On a medical note, it is far, far healthier to have your own bone holding you together than all of that metal. Your body can go through so much rejection from foreign material, and continue to fight against itself, even after things are healed up. I’m so, so, SO glad his bones have healed up this well. (Especially after the way he punished his spine over the last year!)
On the other side…please please heal yourself properly Plushy. Those bones need some love!
It’s almost like all fans can hear him thinking about skating again already. I’m wondering if it’s actual things he’s saying, or just how the media is spinning the news….
I’m a Theatre Major, so of course I have a crazy weak spot for this song anyway, but the the expression and creativity that he put into this one is just spot on. Plushenko + Mack the Knife = Perfection
